Ellen is a member of District 2, General
Douglas MacArthur Auxiliary 392, Virginia Beach, Virginia. She joined on the
eligibility of her brother, who served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. She belongs to Military Order of Cootie
Auxiliary #9.
Over the years she has served in many positions, including two terms as Auxiliary President, and in 2007-2008 as State President, where she was Outstanding President for her membership group.
On the national level she has
served as Southern Conference Chairman for the Americanism-Patriotic Instructor
program.
She was Installed at the 97th
National Convention in Indianapolis, Ind., to represent Virginia and West
Virginia on the National Council of Administration which govern the Auxiliary
to Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United Between National Convention. She served a two-year term 2010-2012, as one
of 28 representatives who make up the Council along with the top seven National
Officers, the National Chief of Staff, and the four Junior Past National
Presidents.
She retired in 2008, after working
30 years at a Bulk storage Company. She
lives in Virginia Beach. In her spare
time, she enjoys reading and Elvis collectibles. She also loves sunflowers and dolphins. She is the proud "Aunt" of 10 Nieces/Nephews, 20 Great
Nieces/Nephews and 10 Great-Great Nieces/Nephews.
